Conference photographer in Newcastle
Multi-day academic and industry conferences, shot editorially and delivered while the event is still running.
A conference is not one event. It is registration, keynotes, concurrent sessions across several buildings, poster halls, an exhibition floor, a civic reception and a dinner - usually over four or five days, often in rooms that were not designed to be photographed in.
I cover the whole shape of it. Available light, no flash firing through a keynote, and the patience to wait for something rather than stage it. What you get is an edit rather than an archive: a tight set of hero frames while the event is still live so your comms team can post the same day, then the full gallery shortly after.

Galleries delegates can actually use
Twelve hundred frames is unusable as a folder. Conference galleries are delivered with face search, so a delegate can find the photographs they appear in without scrolling the whole take, and your organising committee can pull what it needs for the report and the next call for papers.
That was the setup for GPR2026 - the 21st International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar, more than two hundred delegates across Northumbria University and Wylam Brewery. Forty years on from the first one, and the first time it came to Newcastle.
Working in Newcastle
I am based here, so there is no travel line on the invoice and no guessing about the venues. Northumbria and Newcastle University campuses, the Boiler Shop, Wylam Brewery, the BALTIC, Sage Gateshead, the Quayside hotels - I have either worked in them or walked them.
That matters more than it sounds. Knowing that a room goes dark at 2pm, or which corridor the delegates actually gather in, is the difference between covering an event and reacting to it.
